The monastery was badly damaged during Turkish rule in Hungary. In the 17th century, the church became property of the Zichy family which used a chapel in the monastery for services instead. On June 28, 1736 the church collapsed as a result of an earthquake & since then has been deserted.

The Crowhurst Yew England

Travel Adventure - The crowhurst yew England, Thought to be 4,000 years old, possibly making it the oldest yew tree in the country. The trunk is hollow with a wooden door in it, placed there sometime after 1820. Located close to St Georges' Church in Crowhurst.

The Yew is in need of a little support and has the help of a few wooden supports. In 1820 the villagers of Crowhurst hollowed out the bole of the tree.

Nowhere Kansas

Travel Adventure - Nowhere, KS was originally a stop on the Leavenworth, Lawrence and Fort Gibson railroad, and today the Midland Railway runs on these tracks. As far as I can tell, this is all that's left of the town. So this is a literal picture of "the middle of nowhere". Location is on Montana Road just south of Woodson Road, in Franklin County, Kansas.

Light House on the sea

Travel Adventure - the light was shown through a square window at the top of the tower. Lighthouse painted with red & white horizontal bands. the lighthouse is being maintained in good condition.

 The active light has been moved to the roof of a nearby fish factory. In 2011, a neighbour complained that visitors were walking through his back yard, officials promised to develop a public path to the tower.

Frozen Wave Antarctica

Travel Adcenture - Frozen Wave Antarctica, A frozen blue wave measuring at least 50-feet-tall was captured in photos in the Antarctic.

The incredibly rare phenomenon is reportedly caused by compressed ice. The blue cast which appears on the ice is caused when ice bubbles are compressed and absorb light from the “red end” of the spectrum.
